Deer
Hunting at Bay View Hunting Preserve ~
Seasonal; August 15th - January 1st
Bamberg County, South Carolina is truly a hunter’s
paradise. The low country of South Carolina offers one of the
longest hunting seasons in the nation and Bamberg county traditionally
has one of the largest deer populations in the state.
The early opening date of August 15th allows for the harvesting
of bucks in velvet. We offer a liberal bag limit of two deer
per day per person – two bucks from August 15th through
September 15th – one buck and one doe September 15th through
January 1st. See our rates and requirements,
below.
There are two separate managed units for deer. One is managed
bucks eight points and better with a minimum of fifteen inch
inside spread. This area offers the chance to harvest an excellent
B & C buck. There is no additional trophy fee to hunt this
unit.
This is a non-fenced, free-range area. The other area is
hunter’s choice where any legal antlered bucks may
be harvested. Does may be hunted in both units. Tower stands
are located throughout the property.
Deer season August 15th through January 1st.
(doe season September 15th through January 1st)
